Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tax Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead and manage tax engagements, mentor junior staff, and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage a portfolio of tax engagements for clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Review complex tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, and trust) prepared by staff members, providing guidance and feedback as necessary.
Conduct tax research and analysis to resolve client issues and support tax planning strategies.
Serve as a key point of contact for clients on tax matters, maintaining strong relationships and addressing inquiries effectively.
Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing training and development opportunities to foster their growth.
Stay current on tax laws and regulations, and communicate updates and implications to clients and team members.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation.
Strong technical knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and tax research.
Experience managing and supervising tax engagements and staff.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
