Commissioning Project Manager Data Center Construction (Owners Representative) Salt Lake City, UT | Full-Time | Mission?Critical / Data Centers Were seeking a Commissioning Project Manager to act as the Owners Representative on large?scale data center construction projects in the Salt Lake City region. In this role, youll ensure all MEP, electrical, and critical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to meet strict performance and reliability standards before turnover to operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong commissioning leadership experience who thrives in fast?paced, highly technical environments. Manage the full commissioning lifecycle for mission?critical systems (MEP, electrical, mechanical, controls, BMS/EPMS). Coordinate FAT, SAT, and IST activities, ensuring all systems perform as designed. Lead commissioning meetings, track progress, and drive issue resolution with GC, trades, and Cx agents. Owners Representative Responsibilities Represent the owners interests on?site, ensuring alignment with design intent, operational standards, and project milestones. Interface with design engineers, contractors, commissioning agents, and operations teams. Identify risks or gaps and elevate with clear mitigation plans. Technical & Documentation Oversight Review commissioning scripts, submittals, startup procedures, equipment testing documents, and closeout packages. Ensure test results, redlines, and as?built documentation are accurate and complete for turnover. Validate equipment installation readiness for commissioning activities. Field Coordination Perform field walks to verify installation quality, equipment readiness, and test prerequisites. Support issue tracking and closure (Cx issues, punch lists, deficiencies). Ensure seamless integration between construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams. Compliance & Standards Ensure activities meet all owner standards, industry best practices, and applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.). Promote a strong culture of safety during startup and testing activities. What You Bring 5+ years of experience in commissioning or startup of mission?critical systems (data centers, semiconductor, pharma, industrial). Strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, UPS, generators, chilled water systems, PLC/BMS/EPMS controls, and electrical sequence?of?operations. Experience working as an Owners Rep, commissioning agent, or construction manager. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive accountability in the field. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Nice?to?Have Experience with hyperscale data center commissioning standards (AWS, Meta, Google, Microsoft). Familiarity with Procore, BIM360, Bluebeam, or similar tools. Engineering or technical degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls). Cx or commissioning?related certifications (CxA, CEM, PMP, LEED AP).
