Payroll Specialist

Tiegerman is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This is a full-time position (benefits eligible) based out of our Glen Cove location. Hours are 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Non-exempt position, overtime eligible.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Process bi-weekly payroll for two companies accurately and timely

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports

Review and modify time and attendance records

Enter new employees into the Payroll system

Terminate departing employees from the Payroll system

Process Payroll vouchers for all employee changes regarding any change of salary, title, transfer or employment status

Make all changes to deductions from payroll including but not limited to: health benefits, pension, garnishments, pension loans

Process all additional pay slips (ie. overtime forms)

Make changes to employee direct deposit, tax withholdings, and/or any deductions

Assist with our Human Resource Functions

Review all Pension Reports

Distribute all pension notices to all staff

Perform all duties assigned by department Supervisor

Perform data entry tasks efficiently

Experience:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

Proficiency in debits and credits principles

Experience in general ledger reconciliation

Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data

Knowledge of payroll management processes

Familiarity with accounts receivable procedures

Ability to use ADP or similar timekeeping systems

Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll

Accurate and efficient in data entry tasks
