Job Summary:

The Field Operations Drop Bury Coordinator's responsibility is to provide staff support for Field Operations concerning all aspects to drop bury activities. This position is involved primarily in the coordination of contractors supporting the drop bury process, coordination, distribution and monitoring of contractor work load, making adjustments where needed and affiliated duties that ensure contractor compliance with all state regulations and company requirements under Metronet's Professional Services Agreement (PSA). Further, responsibilities will include administrative support to Field Operations and development of policy and procedures. This position will interact and operate in concert with Dispatch, Repair, Legal, Product Development, MIS, Network Operations, OSP, Marketing / Sales, Procurement, Project Management, Safety, and any other departments critical to the success of Field Operations' core functions and other duties as assigned by management.

What you will be doing:

  • Coordination of contractors in support of drop buries, stick bores, and directional bores.
  • Identifying and assist in procuring qualified contractors
  • Securing all required Safety certifications with contractor resources
  • Administrative support to Field Operations
  • Serve as the primary interface for escalations related to drop buries / bores
  • Development of process work flows and associated procedures pertaining to Field Operations
  • Produce quality results in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Represent Metronet professionally to the Contractors encountered
  • Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and Contractors.
  • Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance according to company policies.
  • Adhere to company policies, regulations, procedures, and principles.
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by the Field Operations Management team.

What You Need For This Position:

  • 3-5 years' experience with basic telecom, CATV, and internet installation and maintenance services
  • High school diploma plus additional Field Operations related experience
  • College graduate preferred but not required
  • Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and other database systems.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and multiple tasks at the same time
  • Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance
  • Field Operations, Outside Plant construction, and related fiber optics experience is a plus
  • The incumbent must be self-sufficient and able to work on their own for extended periods of time with minimal management direction
