Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' communication and swallowing abilities, identifying areas for improvement.
Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific communication and swallowing difficulties, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
Implement a variety of therapy interventions, including speech therapy, language therapy, and swallowing therapy, to improve residents' communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Educate residents and their families on communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and home exercise programs to promote continued progress.
Qualifications:
Education :
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Licensure :
Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Experience :
Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) experience is not required.
Skills:
Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
Full-time: 40 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with a weekend day rotation.
