Financial Analyst

Hours: Monday - Thursday

Status: Full Time

Reports to: Finance Director and CFO

Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Finance Director and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position provides processing of drawdowns and receivables.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Process monthly drawdowns and meet with the Finance Director and CFO on a monthly basis to go over the balances.
    1. Including analysis of allowable expenses per grant draw assigned and researching any questioned items.
    2. Collect all backup documentation for drawdowns and communicate with grant administrator regarding any questions or additional information needed.
    3. Make sure balance sheets are implemented at time of grant approval and updated monthly.
  2. Reconcile program general ledgers to QuickBooks for programs as assigned and work with Program Managers on discrepancies or items to be investigated.
  3. Maintain time study allocations for all staff with the Finance Director.
  4. Assist with department budgets and prepare proposed budgets for grant applications with Finance Director.
  5. Print, review in detail and discuss with CFO monthly financials for any discrepancies.
  6. Update Grant list as needed.
  7. Verify weekly Accounts Receivable deposits assigned (cash, checks, EFTs, or credit cards) and post to QuickBooks. Communicate with Finance Director any discrepancies during reconciliation of accounts.
  8. Assist with other finance duties when staff shortages occur.
  9. Assist with any fiscal audits for programs assigned or others as needed.
  10. Other duties, as may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Must be efficient in QuickBooks, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  2. Must have the ability to multi-task.
  3. Must be able to type at least 45 WPM and operate a 10-key by touch.
  4. Knowledge of non-profit A-133 auditing standards, applicable grant/accounting statutes, ordinances and codes.
  5. Requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  6. Attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast pace environment independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications, Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or combination of education and experience, equal to 5 years experience in a non-profit organization.
  3. Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug screenings are performed.
  4. Must have a current NV driver's license and clean DMV record. Driver History Reports are required to be submitted on a quarterly basis.


Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment, with driving required at times. May be subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, squatting, pushing and pulling, and simple grasping.
