Location: Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities:

Work across business teams on project design and strategy: comprehend complex data interactions and provide a clear point of view. Quickly assess data relationships and then communicate to business teams how best to leverage these data to get to client insights faster. Work within the product team to lead design decisions around new data platform development. Provide thought leadership around processes and systems: take general requirements and develop detailed plans and strategies in concert with others to deliver the needed data in the needed format. Drive adoption of standards where appropriate. Author and maintain documentation with multiple consumer levels in mind. Build, support, and improve complex ETL pipelines across multiple platforms and teams: build connections between disparate data sources of different granularity and resolution to drive meaningful analytics and reporting. Identify and solve complex production support issues related to data or code issues. Guide the creation of new systems for processing data. Sr. Data engineer will use SQL, Python and BASH while utilizing the following platforms: data architectures with Big Data; Google Cloud platform, including Cloud VM, Cloud Storage, Big Query, Cloud composer, Secret Manager, IAM, and Linux platforms.

Hybrid work allowed / 3 office days.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or similar field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a data engineer, database developer, software architect, solutions architect or related experience in big data processing. 5 years of relevant data engineering experience and experience working directly with business users to gather requirements. 3 years of experience utilizing SQL, Python and command line 2 years of experience with cloud based platforms, including GCP or AWS
