Information Systems Security Officer

Overview:

VTG seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to manage all aspects of a SIPR-connected enclave and its equipment. This position will support our Washington, DC, office near the Washington Navy Yard. This is a combined system and risk management role. In this role, you will develop, implement, and test information security measures, perform security updates to devices, and monitor access to networks and devices, ensuring that employees have the proper level of clearance and are compliant with security requirements. This is an onsite role.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement systems security measures;
  • Monitor networks and user access;
  • Perform vulnerability and risk assessments and mitigations;
  • Respond to security incidents;
  • Perform security updates and patches;
  • Ensure firewalls are working correctly;
  • Ensure employee compliance with security measures;
  • Assist with preventative and emergency maintenance;
  • Update and manage authorization artifacts, evidence, scans, and records in eMASS.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity;
  • High School Diploma;
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance;
  • DoD Approved 8570.01-m Baseline Certification (e.g Security + CE) is mandatory;
  • Must have SIPRnet experience;
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls for DoD information systems;
  • Workin knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF);
  • Experience with network administration;
  • Experience with Windows systems administration;
  • Experience with eMASS, HBSS (ESS), and ACAS;
  • Experience with SIPR, DREN, and SDREN
  • Strong technical skills.
