Our OB/GYN office is looking for a part time PSR to work about 20 hours a week.We have 2 offices, one is in Roseland and our main office is in West Orange.Individual will work between both offices which are only about 2 miles from each other.We are looking for someone with at least 3 years experience on running a busy front desk.This will include checking patients in and out, collecting copays and balances, answering phones to make appointments and help patients with questions.Must be able to start early as our office hours start at 6:45am on certain days and be able to close when needed.Our late hours are up to 6pm.

The PSR will be responsible for greeting patients, activating patient files, and for providing support to patients and medical staff. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls (as well as retrieve messages that are received via answering service). Route calls appropriately, offering voicemail, paging, or redirection of calls as needed.
  • Greet patients/visitors and assist and direct them accordingly. Phone or page employees to meet visitors, directs visitors to appropriate waiting areas, and appropriately and courteously screen solicitors for relevance to organizational needs.
  • Explain financial requirements to patients; collect and record copays as required.
  • Perform registration functions for new and existing patients.t schedules for previous day.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all patients.
  • Verifying insurance and billing balances
  • Referrals and medical records
  • Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies through HIPAA compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
