Responsibilities:

This is a Seasonal position for a 60 day period from orientation date. Applicants must be available to start employment by attending a new hire orientation and start Seasonal employment after this training.

Seasonal associates will have the added benefit of using Scheels employee discount for purchases before the end of employment.

  • Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
  • Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefits
  • Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
  • Maintain a clean working environment and personal work space
  • Engage in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each and every transaction
  • End each transaction by saying "thank you" to every customer
  • Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
  • Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
  • Ability to perform basic math; compute rate, ratio and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers and other employees
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement while contributing to a positive team atmosphere
  • Exercise judgment and tact while working with customers or co workers
  • Strong oral/written communication and reading skills to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned
Schedule:Schedule may include varied hours, and some weekends, and holidays. Applicants should have availability to work between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday. This is a seasonal position for 60 days from orientation.

Education & Experience:

Highschool diploma or GED preferred and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
