Ultrasound Tech Student SPRN

Description:JOB PURPOSE: Performs a wide variety of routine and complex ultrasound procedures according toestablished standards and practices under the direct and/or indirect supervision of an experienced or leadultrasound/vascular technologist. Performs ultrasound imaging such as pelvic, abdominal, small parts,and routine vascular examinations (ex., peripheral vascular [arterial and venous], renal, aorta/iliac, andcarotid artery) and may perform more complex imaging such as breast ultrasound, deep Doppler andguided interventional procedures (ex., biopsies). Prepares preliminary findings. Provides patient care toall age groups including neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Currently enrolled in an accredited ultrasound program by theCommission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or by the CanadianMedical Association (CMA) in Canada.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1 year as a student in are accredited Commission on Accreditationfor Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Canadian Medical Association (CMA) program.MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
