Our Glenwood location in Arkansas, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Machinist. This job is permanent, full-time.

Operate machine shop equipment in support of Lumber manufacturing process. Build, repair, recondition and maintain lumber processing equipment as assigned through use of knowledge and skills as a machinist using metal cutting, shaping, welding, drilling and turning equipment.

Requirements

  1. Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and other material for cutting and shaping of ferrous and nonferrous metal, plastic, and other machine shop work.
  2. Ability to operate lathe, drill press, milling machine and other machine shop equipment.
  3. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  4. Ability to work ten-hour shifts routinely.
  5. Ability to walk / climb some stairs and ladders as required to complete work tasks.
  6. All Personal Protective Equipment is required, including spec gloves, boots, vests, etc.
  7. Must follow all LOTO procedures / rules / policies.
  8. Work with Maintenance department employees in a safe and efficient manner, working effectively in a team environment, following direction from lead maintenance employees and supervisors.
  9. Ability to read and follow blue-prints and equipment / parts plans for proper repair, reconditioning and/or replacement.
  10. Required to inspect machine components for excessive wear, component failure, communicate these concerns / problems to supervisor, maintenance planner and lead employees.
  11. Recognize symptoms/indications of equipment and take appropriate actions to prevent equipment failure.
  12. Operate machine shop equipment for proper repair, replacement of lumber manufacturing equipment.
  13. Assist millwrights as needed.
  14. Demonstrate basic to advanced metal cutting, turning and welding proficiency.
  15. Work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision, completing tasks in a timely manner.
  16. Ability to work safely around moving equipment / machine centers.
  17. Ability to lift 50+ pounds, as work requires.
