Our specialties at Puffer-Sweiven include:Process Control & Safety SystemsControl Valves & RegulatorsIsolation Valves & ActuationOil & Gas AutomationReliability Solutions & ServicesPressure ManagementSpecialty Pumps & Rotating EquipmentInstrumentationMaintenance & Repair ServicesJob Title: Sales Associate - Oil & Gas SalesDuties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare proposals/quotes including product sizing, selection, and pricing to assist Outside Sales in selling products and services, such as, actuators, control valves, isolation and shut-off valves, pressure regulators, safety relief valves and solenoid valves.Interact with customers on a day-to-day basis providing technical, commercial and general sales support.Evaluate RFQ's for testing procedures, documentation and technical content to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.Evaluate customer requirements and identify opportunities to expand scope of products/services supplied.Manage workload and engage Puffer Operations, Emerson factories and third-party suppliers as required to meet customer deadlines.Manage change of customer requirements to quotations and active orders reducing non-conformance while driving customer satisfaction.Proactively follow up with customers on quotations achieving a high hit rate of conversion to orders and ensuring customer satisfaction.Participate in customer meetings as required to ensure clear communication of customer requirements.Work with Sales Assistants and Operations in post award activities providing detailed order entry and technical scope instructions to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and drive customer satisfaction.Develop and maintain a high level of technical proficiency with products represented.Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency with internal business systems utilizing Oracle and Salesforce CRM and principal supplied valve sizing tools.Develop and maintain awareness of all products and services provided by Puffer-Sweiven to identify opportunities for expanding scope of supply.Assist Outside Sales in achieving the strategic goals of assigned accounts.Evaluate and suggest improvements to team processes and tools that will improve efficiency and increase customer dependency.QUALIFICATIONSEducation/KnowledgeBS/BA degree preferred or combination of applicable education and experience.Advanced technical knowledge/understanding of product offerings, business and the industries served.Experience/Skills3-5 years as an inside sales representative or equivalent in a technical sales environment, preferably with a valve manufacturer or distributor.Strong written and verbal communication skills.High level of PC proficiency including MS Office, principal supplied software, CRM and ERP internal business systems.COMPETENCIESDemonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate with a cross section of other employees, principals, and customers.Strong customer service skills including the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers and other employees.Excellent problem solving skills.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.Strong time management skills including ability to multi-task.Demonstrated attention to detail.High ethical standards in dealing with customers and principals.Good self-management skills to include dependability, initiative, innovation, professionalism and organization skills.
