We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager who will assume a key role on our team. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our talented team of developers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing software development projects, fostering a positive team culture, and delivering high-quality software solutions. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the goals for the software development projects and you will play a crucial role in shaping our technology strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule with three (3) telework days a week on-site out of our Herndon, Virginia office. Due to the nature of this role, ship/Work Authorization is required and is not eligible for sponsorship. Requirements Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of software developers to achieve their full potential. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages open communication and continuous learning. Provide guidance and support for career development and growth of team members. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to ensure project success. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Technical Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of the overall technology strategy. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending new tools and methodologies to drive innovation. Work closely with the architecture team to ensure scalable and maintainable software solutions. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce coding standards and best practices. Oversee the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Resource Management: Manage resource allocation, workload, and project timelines. Identify and address resource gaps and bottlenecks to ensure optimal team productivity. Manage and elevate team performance. Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field. A minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on software development experience with React, JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, React.JS, and Azure. A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in software development and project management. At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in managing, mentoring, and leading software engineering teams. Experience with Microsoft technology including C# .NET, .NET Core SQL. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Solid understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies. Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Proficient in finding creative solutions to complex problems. Expertise in programming and debugging. Experience with various IT Software Development Life Cycles and software quality assurance practices, including CMMI.
