As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible. A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening Rotation, from 8:00am - 8:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: A high school diploma or GED Upon hire, you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) Upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Six months of hospital experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. The Department of Pharmacy has a "Greening the Pharmacy" initiative with the goal of leading by example and acting as stewards of our natural resources for the wellbeing of all. Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range: Minimum hourly: $23.00 Maximum hourly: $23.00
