Overview

Job Title: Chief Estimator

Job Summary: Plan, coordinate, and supervise company estimating program, providing technical and administrative direction to insure corporate objectives are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values within the Organization. * Manage and administer department functions including operating budgets, staffing, wage reviews, work assignments, performance evaluations, etc. * Assist corporate and project management to determine what types of projects to bid, strategies, techniques, etc. * Review all final estimate packages to insure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation. * Participate in presentations to corporate management and Clients. May be responsible for closing the "sale". * Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required. * May assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required. * Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

Education and/or Experience:

* Four years engineering/construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience * Extensive (10 or more, years) experience in similar facility construction estimating and related functions plus thorough knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts required * Advanced management or technical training preferred

* Must possess excellent organizational, supervisory and decision making/problem solving skills * Advanced knowledge of construction industry * Good organizational skills * Ability to work towards and reach deadlines * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
