Product Safety Compliance Systems Engineer for Hydrogen

This project requires an experienced engineer who has done extensive work with translation of codes and standards to engineering specifications.

What you will be doing:

Conducting compliance check of built product to the design Apply Functional Safety methodologies to various projects involving flammable fuels and hazardous substances. Review PFD (Process Flow Diagrams), P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram), and other design documents Facilitate / Participate in risk assessments (FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), HAZOP, etc.) to identify hazardous scenarios and their potential risk to determine future actions and reduce risk. Conduct 1 st order CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) models pertaining to gas dispersion scenarios to determine gas leak potential and check if adequate ventilation and gas detection is present Develop training modules on safety development requirements Support creation of internal standards such as PHA methodologies standards, Hydrogen Safety Plan Analyze HAZOP study data using PowerBI to present the findings of a HAZOP study and track the implementation of recommended actions Participate in training pertaining to Functional Safety Creating Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) for Part-3 of ISO 26262 Document Safety Requirement Specification Complete SIL evaluation of design circuits Conduct 1 st order CFD models on various output Review and approve customer plans (design of system cabling, JBs, work plans) Drive best design practices for test cell work with various platform teams validate Test Cell Operations, data collection and data quality Ensure that Engineers and Technicians working in the space are trained, authorized, and qualified to do the work Ensure that Technicians have proper tools / processes / training / and test equipment for building automotive cables Lead common design process for interfaces to the cell Translation of ISO, ASTM, ASME and IEC codes and standards for safe handling of hydrogen and oxygen to engineering specifications Conducting compliance check of design documentation (drawings)

What you'll need to be successful:

Essential:

College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science or Chemist or other relevant technical disciplines. Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Process Engineering/Electrical Engineering degree HIGHLY preferred MS office suit solid knowledge is required. Requirements development experience is required Code and/or standards translation into engineering specifications is required Product Safety and Compliance experience is required Humble, teachable, and who solve their own problems Effective and collaborative team player Good communicator – written and verbal Preferred:

Deep understanding of ISO, ASTM, ASME and/or IEC codes/standards for pressure vessels, and safe handling of hydrogen, oxygen etc. Experience with IEC 61511 Experience with ISO 26262
