Update on OIS Head of School Search

Progress and Next Steps (12 December 2023)

With the Holiday Break coming up shortly, I write to share the latest developments in our search for OIS’s next Head of School. The search committee has been highly impressed and energised by the response to our call for applications. With over 80 candidates of diverse global backgrounds, the quality of the applicant pool has been exceptional. This remarkable turnout of skilled and experienced educational leaders is a testament to OIS's stature in the international educational community. Our committee, in collaboration with the executive search firm Odgers Berndtson, has selected a standout group from this impressive pool for initial interviews. These interviews began last week and are continuing this week. After the Holiday Break, we will move to the shortlist phase. During this phase, 5-7 candidates will undergo further interviews with the search committee. The most promising candidates from these shortlist interviews will be invited to visit OIS as finalists. This will allow the finalists to immerse themselves in our school and interact with many of the people who make up our community. This is an exciting and pivotal time for OIS as we look forward to welcoming a new leader who will steer our school into its next chapter. We are committed to a thoughtful and clear selection process and will continue to keep you updated moving forward. We will next communicate with the community after the upcoming break, and we will update the Head of School search website
