Senior Systems Engineer (Unisys)

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Unisys mainframe systems and related infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of Unisys environments in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.

As a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Unisys you can look forward to:

  • Designing, deploying, and managing Unisys mainframe systems, including hardware, operating systems, and middleware.

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Unisys ClearPath MCP and/or OS 2200 systems.

  • Performing system upgrades, patching, and migrations in coordination with change management processes.

  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing optimizations to ensure high availability and performance.

  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect Unisys environments from potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Unisys systems with existing infrastructure and applications.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to system emergencies as needed.


What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Previous experience working with Unisys mainframe systems, including ClearPath MCP and/or OS 2200.

  • 5+ years of experience in Unisys mainframe administration, including system installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Strong understanding of mainframe hardware, operating systems, and middleware.

  • Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning tools.

  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures on Unisys systems.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Unisys Certified Associate or Professional) are a plus.

  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is beneficial.
