Join one of Central Oregon's fastest-growing healthcare organizations in a newly created role where you'll have the opportunity to build something from the ground up As a Healthcare Data Engineer, you will utilize your data expertise, programming abilities, and critical thinking skills to provide analytic expertise, deliver innovative solutions, and act as a strategic thought partner. You'll collaborate closely with the Director of Information Technology and the Director of Epic Systems to develop and maintain the organization's data warehouse, designing it for current and future use.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain the organization's data warehouse, collaborating with organizational leaders to design for current and future use.
  • Perform complex data extraction, manipulation, and summarization of large databases to create analytical datasets and provide a range of solutions.
  • Produce dashboards, dynamic reports, and other reporting tools to support management oversight and maintain regulatory controls.
  • Analyze data to make recommendations for managing healthcare costs, improving quality, and enhancing client and staff experience.
  • Develop and automate reports and processes that integrate data from multiple sources and maintain datasets and databases required for routine and special reporting.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior members of the analytics team.
  • Act as a strategic partner for investigators to identify key areas and priorities based on analytic insights and data analysis.
  • Present data in a compelling way that highlights opportunities for improvement and strategic decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Science, Health Information Management, Actuary (or related field).
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with data analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, Tableau, Crystal Reports (or similar applications), and building and coding data infrastructure.
  • Experience with healthcare data and electronic health system data development preferred.
  • Demonstrated success using data to influence organization strategy, workflows, or results.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and data development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in MS Office 365, databases, virtual meeting platforms, internet, and ability to learn new software.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required by HIPAA, 42 CFR, and Oregon Statutes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
