The Innovation Center is currently seeking a Senior Automation Manager to support the Goals and Objectives for all verticals of the entirety of the Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical, TSS Industrial and Trelleborg Aerospace business units. In this role, you would manage overall company automation resources, internally and externally, maintaining required capacity & capabilities to meet forecasted demand. Optimizes both human and capital resources through continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities include:
Develop, implement, and maintain an automation strategy
Establishes, monitors and reports Automation department goals and objectives
Helps develop and lead an Automation apprentice program
Appropriately staffs and manages a team to support the strategy
Provides proactive and timely work direction, feedback and coaching to direct reports
Provides departmental succession planning through cross-training and mentoring
Creates and maintains equipment selection standards
Provides guidance to the team related to troubleshooting, project management, equipment design, qualification activities, validations, and other tasks.
Demonstrates objective and critical thinking as a model for other staff members
Maintains project schedules by managing workloads
Maintains company standards for design, documentation, programming, and fabrication
Maintains a professional appearance of the facility and department
Schedules support resources for multiple shifts
Provides resources for sales and engineering projects as needed
Researches, selects, and effectively deploys new technologies
Provides robust automation systems and contingency plans for high-volume cells
Follows GMP and Quality System Procedures
Remains current with state-of-the-art processes and technologies while looking for implementation opportunities
Works with internal resources to identify and complete continuous improvement projects
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Automated Systems & Robotics, Mechatronics or Fluid Power

OR

Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of 7 years experience in Project Engineering or Project Management for machine design or process automation
Experience with the successful implementation of multiple projects or machines for process automation
Demonstrated successful leadership/supervisory experience
Demonstrated electrical and pneumatic circuit design experience
Demonstrated industrial control programming experience
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD packages
Experience with ERP software
Desired Qualifications:

5+ years in Medical Device Manufacturing
Silicone and Thermal Plastic tooling/molding/manufacturing experience
15-25% Domestic and International Travel
