Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage the quality processes, methods, and management system to ensure materials that meet or exceed our customers expectations based upon a broad scope of experience. Ensure that these quality processes, methods, and management system meet or exceed the requirements of our ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 Certifications and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and quality goals. Perform roles and responsibilities in accordance with direction from the Quality Manager.

Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinate, assign and lead customer complaints using 8D methodology utilizing cross functional teams as appropriate to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  2. Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) for Aerospace and other customers.
  3. Manage/participate in Material Review Board for nonconforming materials along with analyzing data for improvements.
  4. Lead/participate in AQP activities relating to quality including specification review, processing requirements, and sampling plans.
  5. Recommends and implements improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls through data trending and analysis.
  6. Lead/participate in internal, customer and 3rd party audits and process reviews to standards including ISO 9001, AS9100 AS13100 and applicable customer specifications/standards.
  7. Manage and complete PPAP utilizing customer defined portals as applicable.
  8. Manage/participate in customer Zero Defect Programs (ZDP).
  9. Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, scrap reduction, yield improvements and efficiency.
  10. Evaluates, troubleshoots, and solves production/material problems on the shop floor.
  11. Assists in training shop floor associates on quality processes and methods.
  12. Assumes responsibility for the safety and environmental issues associated with the quality processes and equipment.
  13. Represent quality in daily GEMBA walk including follow up on any actions.
  14. Providing local daily direction to the sub team with the STM quality department (Green End QC testing and Calibration) including training plans, objective setting and periodic reviews.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS. degree in Material Science or Engineering is required or relevant experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years related broad focused quality experience is required within a manufacturing environment that utilized CNC & Manual Machining, continuous/batch ovens or other green end manufacturing capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100/AS13100 is desired.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean/Six-Sigma Manufacturing techniques is desired.
  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures is required.
  • Computer proficiency.

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Word-Processing and Spreadsheet (Excel) software.

  • Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments of the Company.
  • Must be able to work well with external contacts of the Company.
  • Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills.
