Our organization is growing with multiple branches spread across the southeast and beyond. As a result of our continuing growth, Building & Earth is adding a talented Staff Accountant to our team in the Corporate Office based in Birmingham, AL. This new opportunity comes with room to develop your skills with a defined path to management in the Accounting department

Your Role

As a Staff Accountant, you will:

* Oversee the full range of accounting duties including billing and receiving, payables and payroll, and management reporting. * Handle branch operations accounting, cash reconciliations, and periodic billing while interacting with teammates across the company. * Support payroll processing while working hand in hand with IT and Human Resources. * Ensure compliance with financial regulations, select tax reporting, and assist with internal and external financial statement preparation.

What We are Looking For

* Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting. * Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience. * Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with daily financial operations and reconciliations. * Collaborate on financial analyses, budget preparation, and compliance. * Support the preparation of financial reports and tax returns tasks using company systems and excel for standard and ad hoc reporting.

Work Environment

* Location: In-office role at our Corporate Office in Irondale. * Type: Full-time, normal business hours, eligible for full-time company benefits such as health insurance and 401(k). * Physical Requirements: Ability to handle up to 20 lbs. and communicate effectively.
