Job Overview: The Picker/Packer position is essential in our manufacturing environment, responsible for constructing boxes and packing products efficiently. This role requires teamwork and a commitment to quality, as our facility operates with a focus on speed and precision. You will be working on your feet for the duration of your shift in a loud, dynamic environment, with temperature conditions affected by seasonal changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct boxes and pack them with products, using manual and automated methods.
- Maintain accurate order picking, packing, and inventory records.
- Perform frequent quality checks to ensure labels and products meet standards.
- Rotate products according to the established code rotation schedule.
- Assemble and fold cartons, securely close them, and stack on pallets for transfer.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Clean and sanitize production lines during product changeovers.
- Assist in setting up lines during changeovers, including machine adjustments and applying labels.
- Manage waste by pushing waste totes to the compactor and returning them to the production area.
- Rework any products that do not meet quality standards.
- Review the daily production schedule to anticipate box requirements.
- Create and scan pallets into the Inventory Control System (ICS) for warehouse transfer.
- Perform additional cleaning and sanitation duties as required.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and off shifts as needed.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products, with a lifting capacity of up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear required safety attire, including hairnets, safety glasses, and/or bump caps, for the duration of the workday.
