The Financial Analyst is a key member of the health system’s Finance department, working in a fast-paced environment requiring business acumen, ability to tend to varying priorities, and the ability to tactfully communicate with senior leaders (CEOs, CNOs, etc.) of the health system. It requires carrying out the duties with accuracy and integrity, exercising due care, being cognizant of the nature of complex and sensitive matters, and demonstrating diplomacy in engaging in dialogue with various stakeholders. Other responsibilities include developing and preparing a variety of financial analysis and related reports to key decision makers, coordinating the budget process, preparing service line pro formas, and other financial analysis as directed. Requirements: Assists in developing and monitoring departmental budgets. Maintains departmental productivity reports and collects statistical data for administrative purposes. Assists in the implementation of new budgeting system and decision support system. Develops and maintains complete and accurate financial and statistical reports. Assists in monthly financial close, inclusive of financial performance analysis and hospital statistics. Reviews, interprets, and analyzes financial and statistical data for Administration. Reviews monitors and evaluates monthly, the budget to actual variance. Improves consistency and integrity in financial reporting. Provides support services to general accounting, accounts payable, and payroll. Ensures that all financial transactions are properly executed and recorded. Informs the CFO of the hospital’s financial operations. Prepares, analyzes, and presents financial reports and statistics to the CFO and Administration. Assists the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in overseeing the planning, control, and effective utilization of the financial resources of the institution. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance highly preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years progressive experience in a healthcare finance role.
