Description

Under the direction of the Controller, perform a variety of technical accounting duties in the review, reconcile, and adjustment of assigned general ledger accounts. Prepare, maintain, and assure accuracy of various financial records and reports.
  • Responsible for processing and reconciliation of Bank Account Reconciliations and General Ledger Account Maintenance
  • Perform a variety of technical accounting duties in the review, reconciliation, and adjustment of assigned general ledger accounts; review accounts for errors and propose appropriate adjustments; review, adjust, and assure accuracy of journal entries. Perform various related accounting duties as assigned.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents as required; review data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Receive, review and verify a variety of accounting information; input a variety of accounting data into an assigned computer system; generate a variety of computerized lists and reports as requested; maintain automated financial records.
  • Communicate with tribal personnel and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school college level course work in accounting or related field and two years clerical accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles sufficient to assist technical staff and coordinate all aspects of financial bookkeeping and reporting, including internal controls, payroll, procurement, and accounts payable.
  • Knowledge of reporting requirements relating to accounting.
  • Must possess advanced computer skills. Preferred experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Abila MIP.
  • Must support and participate in the team player concept.
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of projects.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.
  • Must work independently, maintaining a high degree of initiative.
