2013. I have worked in a number of roles, starting off in the Container Repair Team at City Depot before working in Industrial Relations/Human Resources and finally as a Logistics Officer. What does your job involve?

Working with Cargo Handlers, Foremen, Logistics Managers and others in order to ensure safe and efficient operations within the Container Terminal. At any given point during a shift, there will be a train, a vessel or trucks being loaded or unloaded in our Terminal. What’s the most unique part of your role?

I am nearly a year in to the role and am still learning and picking up new tricks and skills most days. It is a role that requires a lot of problem solving and quick thinking which keeps the job interesting. What challenges do you enjoy in your job?

There is always scope to improve and try new ways of doing things within the port. As one vessel leaves, another is often on it’s way up the harbour. I enjoy the challenge of always trying to improve and do better. What makes you proud to work at the Port?

Within every job I have worked at the Port, I’ve always felt part of a team. We always get the job done and look out for one another. Who or what inspires you?

My job is primarily behind a desk so in my spare time I enjoy getting outside and doing things like running, tramping, surfing and playing rugby (for the greatest club in Christchurch – Sumner) What’s something people may not know about you?
