Pay rate: $16.05-16.55/hour The Neighborhoods at St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is currently seeking a Cook - Full-Time who is responsible for preparing food in accordance with standardized recipes, current federal, state, and local regulations as well as established policies and procedures, as directed by the Foodservice Director to assure quality food service is provided at all mealtimes. Works as relief for Lead Cook and Cook II and assumes their departmental oversight responsibilities in their absence and the absence of the Management staff. This employee will also fill in as a Dietary Aide whenever necessary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a 162-bed facility providing high quality long- and short-term nursing and rehabilitative care. Services include geriatric rehabilitation, long-term care, a 30-bed memory care program, Hospice program, and a full recreational program.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare meals from planned menus using standardized recipes.
- Protect product throughout the service cycle from receiving to service. Prepare and serve food in accordance with
HACCP, ADA, and sanitary regulations (i.e. Safe food handling practices, knowledge of policies, and safe practice
standards). - Create a welcoming and supportive environment by participation in the Dining Program for all elders. Listen to elder's
needs and expectations. Where possible, anticipate these needs and provide information and assistance. - Cater and prepare foods for special events and/or meals.
- Serve food in accordance with the established portion control procedures.
- To assist in the process of continuously updating and utilizing production sheets to improve the accuracy of production
planning and food usage. - Actively participate in production
- Fill in as Dietary Aide whenever necessary
- Cook with two years of dining experience in a LTC care setting or other related
medical facility is preferred. - Must be able to move intermittently throughout the facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations. Requires intermittent sitting, standing, bending, pushing and lifting.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
