Description

The Accounting Specialist has a variety of technical and specialized accounting functions. The job entails being in charge of transactions in specialized accounting and bookkeeping functions. Billing process for commercial jobs. Reviews, research and corrects inventory material variances on jobs. Organizes and assists with accounting department oversite of monthly and yearly physical inventory counts.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete billing for commercial jobs by required deadlines using portals where required and billing module
  • Provide customers all required documentation for billing to ensure payment of invoices
  • Contact customer for collection of amounts past due
  • Maintain estimates and change orders for commercial jobs in accounting system
  • Assist with new job setup in accounting system
  • Maintain Inventory Modules
  • Import and post batches for stock material from Commercial Stocking Reports
  • Coordinate with warehouse employees for monthly physical count and reconcile physical count to Inventory Module
  • Assist with year-end Inventory physical count
  • Review material related fields from system that pertain to stock material. Ensure any needed corrections are made timely and correctly
  • Assist with various general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts for processes

Position Requirements
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in accounting/finance or Business administration with 2 years Accounts Receivable experience or High School diploma with minimum of 3 years Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills with ability to accurately calculate, post, correct and manage accounting records
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency required
  • Time Management skills with customer service and communication skills
  • Bookkeeping experience a plus
  • Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools a plus
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and principles.
  • Potential to learn other areas in accounting to expand skills.
