Position: Lead Machinist

Location/s: Richmond, VA

Duration: Full time - Contract to Hire

Shift: 2nd Shift (9:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 4 days a week Sun-Thurs)

Qualdoc is seeking a dedicated and experienced Second Shift Machinist Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine operations and leadership, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our second shift.

Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate 2nd shift schedules and oversee 2nd shift production.
    • Help distribute the correct workload to complete job orders.
    • Perform setups, tear downs, and debug processes.
    • Operate and oversee the operation of machines, ensuring they are running efficiently and meeting production goals.
    • Lead a team of machinist and additive engineers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Coordinate with other shifts and departments to ensure a smooth transition and communication of priorities and issues.
    • Monitor and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet company standards.
    • Perform basic maintenance tasks and troubleshoot machine issues as they arise, escalating as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate production and quality records, reporting any issues or concerns to management.
    • Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations, identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards.
    • CAD CAM experience fusion 360 or siemens NX
Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
    • Proven experience in machine operation and leadership, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with Fusion 360 or Siemens NX is a MUST
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work overnight shifts.
Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
    • Ability to operate machinery and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
