Job Duties: Develop, lead, and execute domestic and international procurement strategies Negotiate with vendors for products and services at the best possible price and service guarantee (including rebates, volume purchases, special program purchases, special terms, etc.) Establish ‘best practice’ purchasing policies, procedures, processes, and supplier measurement criteria in conjunction with Corporate Purchasing; ensures compliance through Managers of Business Locations / Branches Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate and researches new vendor/product opportunities in conjunction with Executive Management, Sales and Marketing management Create, analyze, negotiate, and execute corporate bids for services and products Negotiate blanket purchase orders, when appropriate, and monitor cost during the time-period Coordinate and lead meetings with key purchasing and material scheduling personnel Work with General Managers, sales, and business unit/branch personnel as a resource when source of supply is needed or delivery from vendor affects our performance to customers Create, analyze, report, and improve corporate metrics against corporate goals for performance through business units/branches Act as a resource for inventory control and logistics management for business units/branches Negotiate and track our commitments from vendors (including rebate programs with year-end goals based on year-to-date purchases) to assure that we stay on track throughout the year; prepare information and communicate monthly to Corporate Purchasing and the Leadership Team Attend trade shows as necessary to find new products, sources and enhance vendor relationships Attend vendor events to build and strengthen relationships Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics Collaborate with Operations and central planning for prioritizing material to optimize inventory turns and decrease aged inventory when possible.
