The Manufacturing Engineer Senior position is part of the ManufacturingEngineering (ME) group supporting machining and assembly operations. Asignificant focus for this role will be improving processes that drivepositive results for our business metrics: safety, on-time delivery,cost of poor quality, and continuous improvement savings. This position willhave responsibility for manufacturing data analysis, supporting or leadingcontinuous improvement projects, capital expenditure projects and tasks,and a variety of other contributing roles. As part of the ME group, thisrole will also have the opportunity to develop CAD/CAM skills to support ourmachining process owners, as well as our assembly & test processes. Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesIdentify and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) cost savings initiatives.Key participant in the identification, justification, procurement,testing and implementation of capital equipment investments.Lead analysis of machine/process utilization data to identify opportunitiesfor improvement.Lead investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of correctiveactions related to significant internal issues, customer complaints orthird-party audits.Lead cross functional teams in the application of Lean and Six Sigma conceptsand tools to identify and eliminate waste, variation and bottlenecks in themachining and manufacturing processes.Key participant in executing all aspects of production traceability andconfiguration control including changes/corrections to bills of materials,shop-floor routings, technical work instructions, NC programs andinspection & test plans.Key participant in the NCM (Non-Conforming Material) disposition process. Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated problem solving techniques.Proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools.Training and experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred.Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.Superior time management skills.Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.Demonstrated knowledge of machining and/or manufacturing processes.Ability and interest to learn and apply CAD/CAM software. QualificationsBachelor's degree in science, engineering or other technical disciplinerequired. Suitable experience may be considered in lieu of educationalrequirements.Minimum 5-8 years of experience working in a similar role in a manufacturingenvironment.Minimum 3 years of experience in a machining/metal cutting environment orassembly of industrial equipment preferred.Experience with CAD/CAM software preferred.Physical requirementsThis position is an office/factory hybrid role.Ability to lift thirty-five pounds unassisted.Indoor office & factory environment.
