We are looking for a talented Director of Technology – Web Platform who will utilize a modern technology stack to update and maintain our responsive websites. This role entails leading multiple teams comprising frontend and backend developers, along with QA engineers.

This position reports to the VP of Engineering. You will leverage your expertise in technology to meticulously select the latest technologies, architectural frameworks, and design patterns for implementation. Your role will involve providing visionary leadership and architectural direction to a dedicated team of engineers tasked with developing web applications that connects with our families.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, outcome-oriented, technology-focused people leader with extensive experience managing teams in designing, building, and supporting modern web services. Additionally, they demonstrate a strong partnership with product teams, ensuring alignment between technological innovation and product development goals.

What you will do:

Lead and mentor the Web Platform teams, providing strategic direction, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, establishing the frameworks for managing, executing work, and directing the activities of the teams through your managers.

Experiment with new technologies and conduct proof of concept which then is presented to tech peers.

Partner with other directors and tech leads across multiple orgs to gather system requirements, gut check new feature proposals, and drive large system improvements.

Provide the teams with the tools, confidence, and motivation to make decisions independently that lead to their personal and professional success.

Responsible for Web Platform’s technical strategy and roadmap - creating success metrics in close collaboration with other Engineering and Product Managers and aligning work to achieving those metrics.

Champion whole team quality approach guiding team management on accountability and growth opportunities on roadmap deliverables. ● Mentor the professional development of each manager and engineer by helping them build and execute personal development plans that map to our organization goals. Aggressively recruit and hire talented engineers.

Work closely with the Product organization to ensure that the company product objectives are met on time while simultaneously balancing necessary engineering requirements and influencing the overall technical direction and user experience of our website.
