The Operations Leader manages and leads the activities of Operations team to ensure consistent workflow and quality and efficiency standards are met. The Operations Leader enhances and automates current processes and/or systems to improve overall productivity of the departments. This position manages daily workflow and output from the departmental Operations teams and establishes metrics that will set and measure improvements. This role will effectively lead projects for the department including project plan development, task assignment, budget oversight, and quality execution. The Operations Leader participates in various departmental meetings regarding process and provides assistance with process improvements, analytics, documentation, and overall process support.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Lead and manage operational duties of the team and department processes/workflows.
  • Implement efficient and effective end-to-end processes, while leveraging technology wherever possible.
  • Establish service level agreements, key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the results of the department and team.
  • Improve the overall policyowner experience by proposing and implementing strategies that improve resources, business practice efficiencies, and/or automate processes.
  • Participate in new and upgrade installation for systems that impact functional areas; may include building business requirements, test cases, training, and communication.
  • Support organizational efforts focused on continuous process and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze vendor opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and financial results.
  • May be responsible for management of vendor(s).
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to solve problems and ensure alignment of roles/responsibility and optimal customer experience team.
  • Manage operational projects that support growth and constantly improve workflow and system efficiencies.
  • Serve as a member of the Operations team to support the department and the company's strategic vision and execution plans.
  • Ensure staff experience and engagement is optimal by thorough on-boarding, training, and career development.
  • Work closely with leaders to establish and monitor expense budgets.
  • Responsible for gaining full understanding of business lines, related business processes, and all products under MagMutual to assist in process optimal management.
  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor to policyowners by educating them on functional business processes.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree required, business related is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years carrier or agency property/casualty insurance experience, medical malpractice is a plus.
  • 2+years of Leadership experience.
  • Insurance operations and process improvement background.
  • Accounts payable/receivables and reconciliation experience required for Finance Leader role.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Proven experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholders, strong attention to detail, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in applying analysis techniques to understand business processes, workflows, systems, and applying technology to meet business needs.
  • Must possess a positive customer service demeanor, work well in a team environment, and possess a desire to be proactive and grow professionally.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/initiatives and provide real time, critical support.
