Together, we can build what mattersThe Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Distribution Technician. In this role you will be responsible for material availability for Assembly consumption. One of the primary areas of focus for the Distribution Technician will be loading/unloading of trailers and moving of material from docks to Point-of-Use. The Distribution Technician will also be responsible for some shipping/receiving transactions and visual inspections to ensure that material matches with documentation.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Loading/Unloading of trailers and maintaining material flow on docks.Moving material via sit-down or stand-up lift truckEnsuring accuracy of material received against shipment documentation.Utilizing computer system to ship/receive material.Basic Qualifications: Must have at least 2 years of fork truck experience (stand-up/reach truck experience preferred).Must have good written and oral communication skills.Self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.Basic computer skills.Top Candidates will also: Be flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands. Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs. Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.Stand on concrete for 8+ hours. Additional Information: Position available is on 1st shift (6:30am-2:30pm)Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
