OVERVIEW

We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Procurement Manager that focuses on execution, meets commitments, resolves issues, and has a passion to exceed expectations. As Procurement Manager you will be involved in every aspect of the business operation, from the development of a product to comparing supplier costs to strategic planning to production/warehousing.

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce cost, improve productivity, and supplier management. Ensure clear requirements, forecast market trends, mitigate risks, and collaborate with stakeholders. Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills are required.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials to support the business. This includes developing Risk Mitigation strategies in the event of product shortages, alternate suppliers, or parts.
  • Source, select, and manage vendors and suppliers to ensure they meet the organization's standards for quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Support/enable Negotiations of supplier contracts for goods and services with Global Supply Management leadership.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.
  • Evaluate Supplier Spend (cost analysis) to determine benchmarks for delivery and quality. This would Include holding Quarterly Reviews with Key Suppliers to verify buffer stock levels, review supply chain pipeline concerns, effective inbound logistics, and resolve invoice issues.
  • Provide OEM Suppliers with six month forecast requirements and update each month.
  • Communicate with Production and Warehouse Management to ensure the efficient flow of goods and services. Also manage Reverse Logistics of supplier returns for repair/replacement.
  • Manage Inbound Logistics methods and carriers. Focus being Inbound methods from Asia and Europe.
  • Communicate with Inventory Control to ensure accuracy of Goods Receipts, inventory on-hand, and product quality. Determine appropriate stock levels, reorder quantities, and on-time delivery requirements. Also participate in Annual Physical Inventory.
  • Communicate with Sales team regarding special orders/projects, supplier lead times, and product availability information.
  • Provide leadership to the purchasing team through goal setting, development, training, and accountability. This would include establishing KPIs, monthly KPI attainment reporting, and implementing improvement actions.
  • Manage purchasing team by establishing effective processes that secure ownership and meet team goals/objectives. This would include maintaining accurate purchasing records, identifying replenishment requirements, approval of purchase orders, expediting/push requirements, administration of purchasing systems, and managing the Accounts Payable Invoice exception process.
  • Manage/execute Indirect Spend for all departments through appropriate Requisitioning, sourcing, and approvals (DOA). This would include services, equipment, and internal use products.
  • Operations ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) process including new product line launch and End of Life/change management requirements. Work with Product Management, Compliance, and Marketing teams to define requirements, review Product Data/Bills of Material, facilitate compliance testing, and determine launch/change over dates.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or demonstrated experience in a comparable position.
  • Proven experience in procurement management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management strategies
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
  • A knack for negotiation and networking
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Working experience of ERP/Purchasing software
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, and formulate actions
  • Solid judgement along with decision making skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration

Other desirable skills:

  • Experience in the electronics and/or security products industries
  • Experience in Supply Chain and Inventory Management
