Testing Engineers & Consultants, Inc. Personnel are experienced in a wide variety of inspection, sampling and testing methods used in the field and laboratory. Results from field testing and laboratory analysis typically determine compliance of materials, conditions and workmanship with appropriate specifications, standards, and regulations. To maintain that distinction we are seeking skilled, professional, and creative individuals to join the TEC Team We are seeking a qualified engineer for a full-time position in geotechnical engineering services at our Troy, Michigan location. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter yet thrive in a fast-paced team atmosphere. They will preferably have paving, utilities and structure experience and display a creative application to project challenges. They will have a sound understanding of local, state, and federal guidelines as well as hands-on experience with ASTM, MDOT, and AASHTO standards and procedures. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include site investigation, field testing and consulting, data collection, entry-level engineering analyses, and opportunity to provide sound engineering recommendations on occasion. Office work includes project coordination, data management, liaising with laboratory and field personnel, proposal preparation, and report writing. We are interviewing candidates of all experience levels and this posting is for applicants who will be entering the work force following undergraduate degree and/or persons who are near or have just received their professional engineer’s license. Responsibilities and salary will be commensurate with the level of experience. Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including field exploration, entry-level engineering analysis, report preparation and laboratory services Develop project proposals to the satisfaction of the client and TEC Data collection and interpretation, with opportunities to learn with senior personnel Field monitoring during project construction, field investigations, and laboratory testing Be a public relations ambassador by communicating the capabilities and strengths of the company to potential clients Requirements: Nearing graduation or have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical emphasis Prefer a candidate that has completed the FE exam and on track to obtain a PE license Positions for zero to five years of experience in geotechnical engineering Experience with paving and structure projects beneficial Willingness to travel and work flexible hours/shifts on occasion to support project/client needs Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Qualified candidates should submit their resume and cover letter (referencing the desired position) to Human Resources by email or fax as listed below.
