Majestic Steel is excited to add a Plant Manager to our team The Plant Manager will be accountable for all service center operations, production and performance through planning, coordinating and evaluation of the service center activities and its associates. This person will impact our business by ensuring our Hickman, AR plant is meeting production quality and safety standards. Our ideal candidate is passionate about engaging staff in continuous improvement initiatives and is driven to achieve operational excellence

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and leads improvement projects aligned towards site goals and objectives
  • Resolves production problems and implements solutions in an effective and timely manner
  • Ensures associate management including staffing, scheduling, associate development and performance management
  • Implements and manages continuous improvement initiatives and activities
  • Leads service center to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual goals
  • Implements and ensures operations metrics are well known
  • Exhibits and promotes behaviors on the service center floor that leads to an engaged workforce
  • Implements company policies such as attendance, overtime, safety, etc. and directs the application of such policies to the service center
  • Manages safety procedures in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines
  • Oversees equipment utilization and compliance to determined targets and operation objectives
  • Controllable cost management for assigned operations
  • Safety culture implementation and associate engagement compliance
  • Quote vs actual performance initiatives and production management oversight
  • Other job related duties and special projects as assigned
Education, Training and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in operations management or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Five (5) years of operations management experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Steel or manufacturing industry experience
  • Technologically savvy and experience working with Microsoft Office products and Windows-based applications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
  • Highly articulate verbal and written communication skills, professional appearance and presentation style
  • Ability to clearly convey information and ideas with all levels of the organization
  • Creative, innovative and strategic thinker with proven problem resolution skills and process improvement techniques
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to prioritize projects, accept responsibility and follow through without close supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple projects
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environment
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate associate performance, establish work priorities, delegate tasks, and train associates in proper policies, procedures and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Eight (8) years of experience in an operations management role in steel or manufacturing industry
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Oversees all associates assigned to the area. Responsible for hiring, retention, development and performance management for the area
Additional:
  • Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
  • Must be able to travel occasionally and work at an outside location
