About the Role We are looking for a dynamic, technical hands-on Director of Engineering to lead a group of product development engineers and drive the development of cutting-edge IT Operations software products. Be pivotal in shaping our technology strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture here at NinjaOne. Manage teams that are responsible for bringing new best in class IT Operations products to life. Partner with product management to drive our roadmap and strategy, defining the next generation of products for our clients. You are a highly visible and trusted advisor to our executive team,

responsible for identifying and implementing engineering process improvements.

Leading the team as a people leader; working hands-on with our Technical Leads, for the smooth day-to-day operations,

overall efficiency, and career growth of our engineers . Location

- We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the

USA

and in one of the following states -

TX, FL, CA, NC, GA, CT, ME, KS , and

VA . We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option. We hire the best software engineers, but experience in our stack can’t hurt: NinjaOne is built on

Java, Kotlin, C++, and Postgres, supporting millions of user endpoints and running as a scalable cloud service in AWS. Knowing large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design and client-server architecture will help you. What You’ll be Doing Leadership:

Build, lead and inspire a globally distributed team of engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Mentor managers and team leads to grow company leadership strengths and make recommendations for improving the overall quality and productivity of teams. Be an active part of our leadership team and collaborate with other leaders at NinjaOne.

Development of Software Applications –

use your expertise to help lead the development of large-scale software applications. Make quality an invariant part of your work and help your fellow engineers

continue to meet

our quality-first standards.

Product Development:

Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from technical strategy to deployment. Drive velocity in our product development execution and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Roll up your sleeves and code to actively contribute to the development process. Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices. Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.

Technical Roadmap:

Collaborate across teams to define and deliver new products, features and enhancements based on customer feedback, market research, and business requirements.

Quality Assurance:

Implement robust testing and quality assurance processes to ensure software reliability and performance.

Technology Innovation and Research:

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.

About You Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (MBA is a plus).

10+ years in senior technology leadership roles in a B2B SaaS company (engineering and engineering management positions), with experience in people management and development.

Strong background in software development, architecture, and infrastructure with a passion to stay active in coding and development.

Experience with cloud technologies and scalable systems.

Relentlessly pragmatic, you create solutions that are efficient, focused on results and that minimize risks.

Success history of hiring and building cohesive and high-performing engineering teams.

You love developing and growing people and have a strong track record of doing it.

Technical experience in enterprise software, firmware, operating systems and applications.

In-depth experience with diverse programming languages and the capacity to quickly adapt to new technologies.

Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.

Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.

Ability to establish and manage processes and controls to ensure quality of product and repeatability of practices.

Excels at adapting to changing business needs with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lead by influence and example, including strong communication skills; enjoys a collaborative, technical environment.

Intellectually curious and passionate about product excellence and innovative technologies.

Additional Information This position is

NOT

eligible for Visa sponsorship. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage and PTO.
