Responsibilities: Lead the design and architecture of software solutions for the

Next Generation Network Priority Services

project, focusing on integrating geospatial technology with wireless communication systems to support information dissemination and emergency response. Collaborate with wireless core engineering team members to gather requirements, define system architecture, and develop detailed technical specifications and designs that incorporate geospatial data visualization, analysis, and mapping capabilities. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, overseeing the implementation of software solutions and ensuring adherence to coding standards, quality guidelines, and best practices, particularly in the context of wireless communication systems. Drive the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software components, modules, and APIs, leveraging appropriate geospatial technologies, frameworks, and methodologies. Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimization and implement solutions to address technical challenges and bottlenecks in geospatial development. Champion innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in geospatial technology integration within the wireless core engineering team, staying abreast of emerging geospatial technologies, trends, and advancements. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize feature roadmaps, release plans, and development milestones for geospatial software solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals and technical requirements. Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and mentorship to development teams in geospatial technology integration and software architecture best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the wireless core engineering team.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, GIS, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience. Proven experience as a Lead Developer, Software Architect, or Technical Lead, with a strong background in software design, development, and architecture, particularly in the context of wireless communication systems and geospatial technology integration. Extensive experience in designing and architecting scalable, distributed, and high-availability software systems and applications, with a focus on integrating geospatial data visualization, analysis, and mapping capabilities. Expertise in geospatial concepts, technologies, and standards, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial databases, mapping APIs, and location-based services. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript), with experience in developing geospatial applications and solutions using relevant geospatial libraries, frameworks, and tools. Strong familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, front-end frameworks/libraries) and back-end technologies (server-side languages/frameworks, database systems) commonly used in full-stack development, including React.js, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, Django, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MySQL, MongoDB, etc. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), IDEs/text editors (Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm), testing frameworks (Jest, Jasmine, PyTest), and CI/CD pipelines in the context of full-stack development. Familiarity with mapping APIs (Google Maps API, Mapbox API, Leaflet.js) and geospatial analysis libraries (GDAL/OGR, GeoPandas, Turf.js) for performing spatial analysis tasks.
