DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, your role involves providing custodial care for buildings and surrounding grounds to support transportation maintenance operations effectively and efficiently. Your responsibilities include general cleaning tasks, maintaining cleanliness in various areas, and performing building maintenance duties such as waste collection, dusting, sweeping, washing floors, and more. You will also manage the upkeep of department grounds by mowing grass, removing weeds, and ensuring safety by clearing snow and ice. Utilizing tools like mowers, weed eaters, and hedge trimmers is essential, along with choosing the appropriate tools for each task and maintaining them properly.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • This position requires travel to satellite sites, including Sullivan County locations, to perform custodial duties is required as needed.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
