Responsibilities:

This role requires a proactive approach to safety, strong presence on the floor, and the ability to work closely with plant personnel to foster a culture of safety and compliance.

Must take a hands-on approach and actively promote safety and environmental health on the plant floor

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the plant floor to identify and mitigate hazards

Respond promptly to safety incidents and near-misses, conducting thorough investigations and root cause analyses

Develop and deliver EHS training programs for plant personnel, including new hire orientation, safety procedures, and emergency response

Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives aimed at reducing workplace hazards

Work with cross-functional teams to implement safety improvements and best practices

Oversee the continued compliance to a comprehensive process safety management (PSM) program

Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards, EPA RMP regulations, and other relevant safety regulations

Communicate PSM systems and metrics for Operations; identifying trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the risk is highest.

Participate in or lead process hazard analyses (PHA) and risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards.

Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices

Certification: Certified Safety Professional
