What are we looking for in our Business Strategist?

Job Title: Business Strategist Work Mode: 100% Remote Pay Range: $70/h - $87/h, depending upon experience Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension)

As a Business Strategist within the Business Strategy and Execution Team, you will report into the Director of Business Strategy and play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and providing innovative and valuable insights to inform decision-making within our organization. Leveraging your expertise in research, insights generation, and business case modeling, you will contribute to the development and execution of our strategic roadmap to achieve our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have expertise aligning and executing strategy in a learning organization and a passion for fostering a culture of learning excellence.

What you will do in this role: Research Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities. Gather and synthesize data from various sources to support strategic decision-making processes. Stay updated on market dynamics, emerging trends, and technological advancements relevant to our business domain.

Insights Generation Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to derive actionable insights from data and research findings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret insights and translate them into strategic recommendations. Develop compelling narratives and presentations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Business Case Modeling Develop robust business models and financial projections to assess the feasibility and potential impact of strategic initiatives. Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity testing to evaluate different strategic options and their implications. Partner with finance and other relevant teams to ensure alignment between strategic objectives and financial goals.

Strategy Development Assist in the formulation and refinement of the organization's strategic priorities and goals. Contribute to the development of strategic plans, initiatives, and roadmaps to drive business growth and innovation. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify strategic opportunities and address challenges to enhance our competitive position. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities in our ever-evolving landscape.

To be successful in this role you have: Minimum 3 years of industry experience. Desired: 5 years in a similar role, preferably in strategic planning or consulting capacity for a learning organization. Demonstrated experience in leading key projects, including leading strategic programs from inception to successful rollout. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and modeling techniques and tools. Critical and strategic thinking skills, urgency in assimilating and implementing new information. Gathers and analyzes data to understand the pros and cons of different decisions and options. Proficiency in business intelligence tools, financial modeling software, and MS Office suite. Strong documentation, excellent communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively. Ability to work independently or in a team environment and willingness to work hands-on to deliver impactful outcomes. Growth mindset with a strategic ability to think critically, anticipate trends, and identify strategic implications. Strong cross-functional Program/Project management skills including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and stakeholder reporting. Ability to set clear direction by defining goals and priorities and evaluate/support the business needs. Goal driven, self-motivated, persistent, and professional. Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives. Must be able to quickly pick up tools, systems, and processes. Must be able demonstrate thought leadership by thinking strategically.

Does this position require to sit onsite or travel? If yes, which days of the week? No, however, if they are near HQ it would be good to have them go into the office a few times a month.

Does this position have the opportunity to extend beyond the initial contract or convert to FTE? Yes, that the goal which will be based off performance, headcount and needs of the business.
