Job Description Summary Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and physical structures in a food processing plant designed to produce frozen potato products. Job Description Maintain and perform preventative maintenance activities on ammonia refrigeration systems. Understand and follow all PSM and other regulatory requirements as assigned. Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records. Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments. Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s. Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Understand and follow HACCP and other food safety and security programs. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. Follow all required work safe practices. This would include lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic & Preferred Qualifications All members of the Refrigeration department shall be certified in the operation of a Refrigeration machinery for operators with more than two years of experience this will be RETA CIRO, Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator, 24-hour hazardous response, confined space entry, and confined space rescue, unless medically unable. AAS in Refrigeration Technologies or Industrial Utilities from an accredited institution. Minimum of one-year previous ammonia industrial refrigeration experience as well as one of the above requirements. Ability to interpret piping diagrams, P&ID’s, and electrical schematics. Knowledge of mechanical repair work principles and techniques including PLC’s. Ability to diagnose and determine root cause of mechanical / electrical issues. Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Ability to self-motivate and work independently. Advanced knowledge of the factory equipment. Minimum of one year experience in a maintenance position. Must have own set of hand tools (on good quality, list avail upon request) Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision. Must also demonstrate the ability to maintain the level of performance. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers. Mathematical skills: Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers. Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Wage Levels & Progression: Candidates must possess their RETA CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) certificaiton or be able to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
