Data Analyst - Medical Billing

Monroe, NY

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our medical billing team in Monroe, NY. The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting healthcare-related data to optimize billing processes, enhance revenue cycle management, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our medical billing operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in healthcare data analytics and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Healthcare Data Analysis: Analyze medical billing data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement. Interpret and present findings to support informed decision-making within the medical billing department.

Revenue Cycle Optimization: Work closely with the billing team to optimize the revenue cycle by identifying and addressing inefficiencies. Implement data-driven strategies to improve billing accuracy, reduce denials, and accelerate reimbursement.

Claims Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of medical claims data to ensure accurate coding and billing practices. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance claim submission accuracy.

Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines. Implement data analysis processes to identify and address compliance issues proactively.

Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools to create dashboards and reports for easy interpretation of complex billing data. Present data-driven insights to stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Management, Statistics, or a related field. Proven experience as a Data Analyst in a medical billing or healthcare setting. Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python). Knowledge of medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10) and healthcare billing processes. Familiarity with healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management principles. Certification in healthcare data analysis or related fields.
