Workday Senior Platform Lead

Job Description Summary:
The Workday Senior Platform Lead role serves as the subject matter expert on Workday, able to support required Workday modules. Both highly analytical and front facing, the role provides Workday support to primary stakeholders and the business in general.
As an SME, the Workday Senior Platform Lead is responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, enhancements, testing and production releases of Workday. The individual in this position must have in-depth knowledge of SMU's business processes to provide functional areas with outstanding support and effective solutions.
The individual will work collaboratively with other team members and colleagues from other academic and administrative units to continually support and enhance Workday functionality. An analytical and problem-solving mindset, creativity, communication, and customer-centricity are key characteristics of a successful candidate for this position.Duties and Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate expertise and ownership for the configuration, maintenance, enhancement, testing, and production releases of the Workday system
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction and able to build positive relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to increase confidence and communication with the Workday Business Team
- Willingness and dedication to learn new areas of Workday to broaden knowledge and provide cross functional support within the Workday Business Team
- Works with and provides primary support for stakeholders, consultants, and support vendors to define, implement and maintain Workday configurations, business processes, reports, dashboards, integrations, and workflows for supported modules
- Lead and/or participates in the research, design, development, testing, delivery and training of new and modified business processes, reports, dashboards, integrations, and tools
- Lead meetings with Workday stakeholders in functional areas to recommend features for uptake and plan the deployment of new features to achieve continuous improvement of the Workday platform
- Coordinate all activities around semi-annual feature releases and the implementation of additional Workday modules and functionality
- Develop user procedures, guidelines, documentation, and training materials for the Workday platform
- Process and manage Workday support tickets
- Assists Workday Business Team with the research, planning, and testing of Workday release updates and miscellaneous updates
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a business or technology-related field, or equivalent training and experience
- Excellent English verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with HRIS/ERP systems
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with Workday HCM and FIN
- Detailed knowledge of Workday modules and offerings
- Uses resources effectively and efficiently; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal
- Experience capturing requirements and documenting business processes
- Ability to analyze business operations and translate business needs into system solutions
- Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team
- Effective problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills

Salary exempt $120,000 to $130,000
Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
