In 2020, Kinross acquired Manh Choh - a project expected to commence production in 2024 and process ore at Fort Knox.

Job Description

Provide non-technical general labor and equipment operation support for the department. Perform grounds / facility maintenance, small equipment / machine checks and repairs, snow removal and general cleanup. Will operate small equipment such as 5 ton dump truck, skid-steers, forklifts and loaders.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for building, site, and shop cleanup.
  2. Assist electrician in carrying parts and tools and materials to and from the worksites.
  3. Perform equipment walk around, inspect and operate equipment, and properly dispose of wastes.
  4. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
  5. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
  6. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
  7. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state.
  8. Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards, and work with management to correct hazards.
  9. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
  10. Perform other duties as required.


Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.

Skills

1. Experience in building, site, and shop maintenance and cleanup preferred.
2. Experience operating small equipment such as forklifts, skid-steers, and loaders is preferred.
3. Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.
4. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
5. Involves lifting and moving various materials in weights up to 50 or more pounds, climbing up and down stairs, and working in an outside environment.
6. Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions required.
7. Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
8. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
9. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
10. Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
11. Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
