IT Director

Job Description We are searching for an

IT Director

to oversee the strategy, implementation, and progression of healthcare information systems. A strong background in healthcare

and

information technology

with

a proven history of leading IT teams and initiatives in a hospital setting is ideal. The position will work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure technologies meet the needs of each department as well as the organization. Responsibilities

Develop and execute the healthcare IT strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.

Lead the HIT department, managing a team of IT professionals, and oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of staff.

Ensure the reliable and secure operation of all information systems, including EHR, clinical decision support systems, and telemedicine platforms.

Oversee the implementation/integration of new systems to facilitate efficient workflows.

Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Collaborate with department heads to assess and respond to IT needs, ensuring effective communication between IT and other organizational units.

Develop and manage the IT budget, including capital investments and operational expenses.

Establish and review IT policies and procedures, including disaster recovery plans and data security protocols.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science.

Minimum of seven years of experience in healthcare IT, with at least three years in a leadership role.

Strong understanding of healthcare processes and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.

Experience with EHR systems, health information exchanges (HIEs), and other clinical information systems.

Proven management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of IT professionals.

Strong project management skills and experience managing complex IT projects.

Financial acumen to manage budgets and make cost-effective decisions.
