Optical Metrology Engineer Responsibilities

* Conceptualize and lead the design of new prototype optical systems and components such as: Lens, illumination sources, imaging systems, interferometry systems, laser systems, and physical optics.

Design optical subsystems, including lens elements, multi-lens systems, and other optical components.

Establish optical engineering specifications, including key performance metrics, optical manufacturing tolerances, and test requirements for optical subsystems and components.

Lead development of custom metrology and measurement systems.

10% domestic travel required.

10% international travel required.

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following:

1. Optical metrology development from concept to system validation

2. Imaging optics, image quality metrics, optical metrology and characterization

3. Opto-mechanical design and simulation using SolidWorks, NX or other CAD tools

4. Zemax, Code V, LightTools, FRED or other optical design/simulation tools

5. Test automation (instrument control, data collection and analysis) using LabView, MATLAB or Python

6. Proficiency in statistical data analysis using Minitab or JMP

7. Communication and presentation skills

8. Lab management

9. System buy-off, troubleshooting and maintenance

$169,626/year to $189,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
