Vaco has partnered with a company looking for a cash application specialist to join their team

The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for accurately applying cash payments to customer accounts. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will ensure that all payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner to support our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Process daily cash receipts and apply payments to customer accounts.

Verify and reconcile all payments, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions.

Identify and resolve payment discrepancies and unapplied payments.

Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve payment issues and inquiries.

Maintain accurate records of all cash applications and ensure proper documentation.

Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing reports and reconciliations.

Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate and efficient processing of payments.

Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts and outstanding balances.

Prepare and distribute daily and monthly cash application reports to management.

Assist with process improvements and implementation of best practices for cash application procedures.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Cash Application Specialist or in a similar role within accounts receivable.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.

Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar software is a plus.
